GROUPS AND LIFE GROUPS

At First Church, one of our Focus Values is community.

Groups and Life Groups are a few of the ways that we can focus and grow together as a community.

A First Church Life Group is a small community of roughly twelve people who meet regularly for an informal time of fellowship and learning. They encourage one another in spiritual growth through study, discussion, and sharing together God's Word. Prayer, mutual concern, and acceptance are also key components.

There are many different groups, meeting in different locations; surely there is a place for you!
Other ministry departments also offer groups formed around special interests: men's, women’s, couples, singles, mothers of preschoolers, youth, or those suffering from addictions.

If you are interested in becoming a part of a Life Group, OR interested in starting one,

please contact Pastor Todd at Toddw@firstchurch.org, or 860 529 1575 ext.115.

Grief Share

Grief Share has just released a newly revised curriculum of their 13-week course of Hope and Healing After the Death of a Loved One. Caring Ministries will begin a new Grief Share cohort to be held on Mondays, beginning Sept. 16 from 1:00-2:30 PM in the Morgan House. Each week, a 30-minute DVD presents helpful guidance, small groups discuss grief-related issues, and participants gain personal recovery tips and receve comfort and support.

The cost is $15 for the workbook. Seats are limited. Pre-registration is required. Contact care@firstchurch.org or call Diane Galloway at 860-529-1575.

Church Wide Prayer Course

All are invited to join this six-week study as we read and discuss Daniel Henderson's book, Transforming Prayer, How Everything Changes When You Seek God's Face.  We will meet Wednesday nights, September 25 to October 30, from 6:30-8:00 PM. The location is still to be determined.

Author Daniel Henderson, calls us out of wish-list praying, seeking what we want God to do for us. Instead, by seeking His face, our ears are awakened and we experience how prayer moves us to a deeper level of spiritual intimacy and transformation.

To register and or more information, please email Diane Galloway at care@firstchurch.org.

Fall Life Group

Jon and Jama Colegrove, who are new to First Church and veterans in Christian ministry, are opening their home to launch a new life group this fall. The group will meet bi-weekly on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 pm beginning Wednesday October 16th. The Colegroves live just up the road from First Church in the heart of Old Wethersfield on Main Street.

This is a great opportunity to connect with others, grow deeper with Jesus, and experience the joy of Christian community. If you are interested in participating, contact Jon at 860-881-5350 for more information.
